The Platform Screen Door is a safety device used in subways and light rail transit systems to create a barrier between the platform and the railway. When an oncoming train stops at the designated position, the fixed and sliding doors installed on the platform couple with the doors , doors are opened in unison with guidance from the signaling system.
- Create a pleasant platform environment by suppressing wind, dust, and noise generated by trains
- Energy savings by improving HVAC (Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning) efficiency
- Increased passenger safety by preventing accidental falls
- Enable high speed train operations
System Configuration of Hyundai PSD
The screen door completely closes off the platform area from the railway
Characteristics : Prevents falls, complete suppression of wind and dust from trains, noise reduction, heating & air conditioning energy savings
Semi- Closed Type
The screen door partially closes off the platform area from the railway, as the top of the screen door does not reach the ceiling. .
Characteristics : cPrevents falls, partial suppression of wind and dust from trains, interface with ceiling is significantly reduced compared to the full-closed type.
Half Height Type
Balustrade type platform gate installed at car door locations.
Characteristics : Prevents falls, simple installation as there is no interface with ceiling. Construction time can be reduced as pre-assembled components can be installed directly. .
By Installation Type
Post support type
This installation method is structurally stable and highly durable, as screen doors are installed between vertical columns that are built to connect the platform floor and ceiling.
Top support type , hanger type
This installation method enables flexible spatial design as there are no vertical columns obstructing the view. Screen doors are installed using a horizontal bracket installed on the platform ceiling or to the upper structure.
By Material Type
Use of environmentally friendly, high tensile strength aluminum allows aesthetically pleasing patterns and progressive designs.
Stainless Steel Type
Unlike the rigid and mechanical conventional design, stainless steel types create an elegant look through use of colored frames on the upper and lower areas of the screen doors.
